Training came to early end Monday night. Engine 4 and Squad 4 were at Abington Heights Middle School practicing hoseline management when the First Alarm Structure Box was hit for Carnation Drive in Clarks Summit. Comm Center reported that the caller heard crackling noises and can now smell smoke. Chief 4A arrived with Squad 4, Engine 4, and Rescue 4. Crews checked the interior and exterior of the structure with the Thermal Imaging Cameras and found the source to be a faulty heating unit in the basement. Crews isolated the unit and controlled the power. Crews operated on scene for approx 15 minutes.
