Station 4 and Station 5 (Dalton) were dispatched to Dean Road in Dalton for the reported chimney fire. Chief 5A arrived and reported the working chimney fire with heavy smoke coming from the chimney and the first floor of the structure. Command 5 also reported some residents still on the 2nd floor unable to exit on their own. Ladder 5 arrived and evacuated the building then sent a crew to the roof to prepare to drop chains to loosen burning debris. The Engine 4 crew quickly emptied the firebox and cleaned out the falling burning debris. Ladder 4 checked for extension with the Thermal Imaging Camera,vented smoke, and threw ladders. Tanker 9 (Factoryville) and Tanker 5 had water supply while Rescue 2 (Chinchilla) had RIT duties. Rescue 36 (Scott) also worked in to relieve some crews and Ambulance 4-9 operated as Rehab. Crews cleared in approx 1 1/2 hours with no extension found.
