Ladder and Engine 4 responded as part of the First Alarm Structure Box along with Station 8 (Newton-Ransom) and Station 2 (Chincilla) for the reported working garage fire on Bald Mountain Road in Ransom Township. Portable 8 arrived and reported the 50' x 100' foot garage fully involved with multiple explosions and exposure problems. Engine 4 arrived and went to work with the crew from Engine 8 cooling exposures and knocking down a good portion of the fire with supply water from Tanker 8-2. The Ladder 4 and Engine 2 crews also pulled attack lines off of Engine 8 and worked to extinguished the fire. Rescue 2 filled tankers from a nearby pond. Heavy machinery was brought in to tear through the rubble to extinguish hot spots. Crews cleared the scene at approx 01:30 hours. On Monday at approx 10:30 hours, Ladder 4 was clearing an alarm at the State Hospital and was requested back to the fire scene to assist the PSP Fire Marshal for the extinguishment of some final hot spots.
